The love of God inspires us to share the Gospel and we believe everyone has the right to hear and understand the message about Jesus. Our commitment to ‘Make Him Known’ informs all that we do and we are constantly coming up with new ways to connect people in Scotland and all over the world with Jesus.
We have lots of opportunities for you to get involved with short term outreaches and long term projects in Scotland and abroad, and we are always open to new ideas.
Our YWAM training courses lead directly to related ministry opportunities and we always aim to go beyond the theory in order to practically equip you for service. Starting with the Discipleship Training School, we run a variety of courses designed to prepare and develop you for service in missions.
We have ministries focused on Scotland as well as international works.
Here in Scotland our ministries range from reaching artists in Edinburgh, church planting in Paisley, community development in Stirling, spiritual fairs in West Kilbride, and much more.
Internationally, we send outreach teams all over the world who are involved in a wide variety of evangelism and relief projects. We also focus on 8 unreached people groups and regularly send teams to connect with them.
We are constantly asking how we can become more effective in reaching more people with the Gospel and desire to see more people come to know Jesus. Besides our long term staff opportunities, we welcome short term teams and volunteers to join in our different ministries and outreaches.
Today’s global movement of Christians from all ages and many cultures serving throughout the world started with a young man following a dream. It was a dream to get young people involved in missions. More than 50 years later, you’ll still find young people at the core of our training courses, ministry locations and outreaches. You will also encounter families, professionals and retirees from more than 130 nations. This incredibly diverse YWAM family is united in a common purpose of knowing God and making Him known through training, mercy ministries and evangelism across more than 180 countries and out of more than 1,100 locations.
Here in Scotland, YWAM began making its mark out of an army hut. Since 1972 YWAMers have sailed, trekked, danced, cycled, motored and caravanned across Scotland and out into Europe, Central Asia, South America, Africa and Asia. The common element throughout has been pursuing the dreams God has put in our hearts so that we can know Him better and share the Gospel with others.
At this time, we have two mission bases in Scotland – the Seamill Centre and Stanely House. There are also teams in Edinburgh, Oban and Stirling, and YWAMers in partnership with other ministries and churches throughout the nation.
There’s room here for you to come pursue your dreams and to be part of the continuing story. It is a story of God’s provision, love and mercy in Scotland and goes out to the nations of the earth!
