Safeguarding Training and Resources

Welcome to the YWAM Scotland Safeguarding training module. This is required for all volunteer staff serving with YWAM Scotland and should be reviewed every year. Policy and procedure updates may be more frequent.

To complete the training, you will need to follow the steps below. Please follow the order of the steps but you may complete it at your own pace and even over a few days. Remember to submit the form saying you have completed the module and agree to follow the safeguarding policy of YWAM Scotland.

As you work with children and youth, don’t forget to revisit this page to download resources to plan your events and keep the CPAT team informed of your activities.

You may need access to a printer to print out the policy, and a pen to take notes.

In Scotland, we are part of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups or PVG scheme (the video above talks of CRB checks). Work or volunteering with children or vulnerable adults may be “regulated work” for which the PVG scheme provides background checks. Our policy will reference these checks as disclosures or PVG checks, the Scottish terminology. Disclosure Scotland and the Scottish Government explain the PVG scheme here: Read the PVG Scheme Guide
